IXCHEL

06/16/2019

This Mayan goddess is connected to different goddesses or better say is a goddess viewed in many different ways. I didn't go to much here in all her aspects like I did for Mahakali, but I was more concentrate about painting her as I've saw her in relief in Palenque and surround her with an environment of that beautiful space.

Rebait - snake

Where we really see that its Ixchel is a snake on her hear and she is seen often with a rabbit when she is associated with gods O and I. In a painting you can see a snake on the head and the rabbit is a part of an outside frame on the right side of the goddess.

PALENQUE

All the jewelry, face decoration I have saw in museum of Palenque and all the plants in the background where in the park. On some leaves are the Mayans letters/symbols and on the bottom is a Mayan zodiac sign Yax.
